Practice Self Care When You Work From Home

Working from home can be amazing - you get to set your own schedule, work when you're most productive and even stay in the comfort of your pyjamas. However, it's important to create a distinction between your work life and your personal life, something that can be even more tricky when your home is also your office.

Taking time out for yourself should be a priority and self-care is so important to ensure we a re feeling nd performing at our best. This is especially important if it's just you running your business! There are many ways to practice self-care when you work from home and we want to share with you our favourite ways to show yourself some love.

Set boundaries

It's easy to know when it's time to leave the office, but when your home is your offie, this becomes a little more difficult. Set yourself a time each day to switch off from work completely or write down a task that will be your last for the day. It's important to maintain that balance between work and play.

Get outside

Being outside in nature is so good for us and it's amazing for productivity. If you are feeling cooped up in your home all day, make sure you set aside time to get outside. Going for a quick walk or light run is a great way to get the blood pumping and feel re-energised.

Make time for lunch

Just as if you were in an office, you should make sure you have a lunch break every day. We all need a break from work and a little time to step away from our computers! Make yourself a nourishing and healthy lunch to keep you feeling full of energy for a productive rest of the work day.

Have a designated workspace

While it may be tempting to work from your bed this is probably not the best idea! We associate out bed with sleep and so we an feel tired and exhausted when we try to work from it. Not to mention it's uncomfortable to hunch over a laptop while sitting or lying on a bed. Try to have a desk or table set up specifically for work.

Get up and move

Whether you work from home or not, it's becoming clearer to us that sitting all day is not good! Try to get up and move every half an hour, even if it's just around your office space. stretch out your legs and get ready to tackle more work. It's also important to invest in a high-quality, comfortable chair to avoid back pain.
